Sprints/Hurdles

In the sprints and hurdles, a slew of familiar faces return to “The Reggie,” including Olympic relay medalists Ryan Bailey and Trell Kimmons in the men’s 60 meters along with 2014 World Indoor Championships silver medalist Marvin Bracy. In the women’s 60 meters, 2012 Olympic 4x100m gold medalist Tianna Bartoletta will face off against 2011 World Championship 4x100m gold medalist Shalonda Solomon, as well as Tawanna Meadows and Tiffany Townsend.

In the unconventional 300 meters, standout quartermilers Michael Berry, Manteo Mitchell and Clayton Parros highlight the men’s field, while Jessica Beard, Natasha Hastings and Jernail Hayes lead the women’s 300m entries.

In the hurdles, NYRR Millrose Games champion Aleec Harris and Olympian Jeff Porter lead the men’s field in the 60-meter hurdles, while Kristi Castlin headlines the women’s 60-meter hurdles field.

Middle Distance/Distance

American indoor record holder Brycen Spratling and 2014 USATF Indoor 800m Champion Erik Sowinski are part of a deep men’s 600 meters field, which includes Casimir Loxsom and Mark Wieczorek. On the women’s side, Alysia Montano returns to the track following her maternity leave, joined by 800m standouts Ajee’ Wilson and Phoebe Wright to lead the women’s 600 meters.

In the 1,000m, Harun Abda, Robby Andrews and Mike Rutt headline the men’s race, while Treniere Moser, Alexa Efraimson and Geena Lara are set up for a showdown in the women’s 1,000 meters.

The mile and 2-mile fields are incredibly deep on both the men’s and women’s sides, with 2015 NYRR Millrose Games Wanamaker Mile champion Matt Centrowitz facing strong competition in the men’s mile from Ben Blakenship, Pat Casey, Leo Manzano, Riley Masters and 2015 NYRR Millrose Games 3,000 meters winner Lopez Lomong. In the 2-mile, Garrett Heath will face off against a Bowerman Track Club quartet of Chris Derrick, German Fernandez, Ryan Hill and Evan Jager.

On the women’s side, the mile looks to be an exciting event with Millrose Games champion Shannon Rowbury facing off against teammate Jordan Hasay, as well as Olympian Morgan Uceny and middle distance standouts Katie Mackey, Stephanie Charnigo and Nicole Tully. Hasay and Rowbury are entered in the 2-mile as well and look to face stiff competition from Brie Felnagle and Liz Costello.

Throws

Olympians Christian Cantwell and Michelle Carter headline the men’s and women’s shot put fields, respectively, while fellow Olympians Amanda Bingson, Amber Campbell, Kibwe Johnson and AG Kruger lead deep women’s and men’s weight throw fields.

Horizontal/Vertical Jumps

The women’s pole vault will be a show-stopper, as U.S. leader and NCAA record holder Demi Payne has entered into the meet as a tune-up for the NCAA Indoor Championships. She will look to take the title from defending champion Mary Saxer and two-time Olympian Jenn Suhr. In the men’s pole vault, multi-time NCAA Champion Sam Kendricks takes on the likes of Olympians Jack Whitt and Jordan Scott.

Two-time Olympic medalist Will Claye, multi-time NCAA Champion Omar Craddock and defending champion Chris Carter will face off in the men’s triple jump, while Claye will double up and compete in the men’s long jump as well. In the women’s jumps, Funmi Jimoh and Amanda Smock highlight the women’s long and triple jump fields, respectively, along with Blessing Ufodiama in the women’s triple jump as well.

In the men’s high jump, defending champion Erik Kynard looks to take make it four straight USATF titles (2014 indoor and outdoor, 2013 outdoor). He’ll take on a strong field that includes two-time Olympian Jesse Williams, Nick Ross and Ricky Robertson. On the women’s side, 2014 USATF Outdoor champion and Olympian Chaunte Lowe and five-time Olympian Amy Acuff headline the women’s high jump field.

Multis

Three-time defending pentathlon champion and American indoor record holder Sharon Day-Monroe returns to the USATF Indoor Championships looking for another indoor pentathlon title. Day-Monroe broke the American indoor record in the women’s pentathlon at last year’s championships with a score of 4,805 points. For the men, Thomas FitzSimons, Jr. and Jeremy Taiwo face off against a young field in the indoor heptathlon. Combined events begin on Friday, Feb. 27.

Race Walk

Olympians John Nunn and Maria Michta-Coffey headline the men’s and women’s 2-mile walk fields, and Michta-Coffey is coming off her first 2015 USATF title in the women’s 1-mile walk from the NYRR Millrose Games just a few weeks ago. Nunn closed out 2014 with a victory in the men’s 50k race walk championships.
